The Sounds

Dick Wieland is the voice talent behind ABC Words and Word Families.  Wieland is a retired radio broadcast instructor at a community college in Southeast Wisconsin.  Wieland does voice work for other software projects.  On some previous software projects, I received feedback from school audiologists that a low male voice is an easier range for most students to hear.

Wieland did the sound recordings in his home recording studio.  With Audacity software, I then captured each word and created individual MP3s.  The sound files are used in the Media and Flashcard activities, to help students say the word.
